Senior Backend Developer – Settlement Team

About the role

Join the Settlement team at Euronext Securities as a Senior Backend Developer, building modern, scalable Java/Kotlin solutions for a critical financial infrastructure. Based in Porto, you will work on the Convergence project transitioning from mainframe to a Java platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, unit test, and maintain high‑quality backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement scalable, event‑driven architectures and RESTful APIs following OpenAPI standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver new features and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring optimal performance.
• Participate in code reviews, support CI pipelines, and contribute to observability setup.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles such as Clean Code, SOLID, and basic Domain‑Driven Design.
• Hands‑on experience developing RESTful APIs with Java/Kotlin.
• Familiarity with event‑driven systems; Kafka experience is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with GIT and test‑driven development.
• Interest in observability practices (logs, metrics, tracing).
