Cost Engineer – Space Products

About the role

Airbus Portugal is hiring a Cost Engineer for Space products within its Global Business Services unit. The role supports the consolidation of costing and pricing for offers, builds cost models and referentials, and delivers independent cost estimates for space programmes. It is a permanent position based in Lisbon.

Key responsibilities

• Offer costing and pricing: consolidate costs for offers within defined product or programme perimeters, track convergence to the Target Must Cost, and prepare the cost brochure and detailed costing files aligned with technical and commercial baselines.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, commercial and procurement stakeholders to gather inputs and prepare financial elements for integration into gates such as MG3 and RMC.
• Cost models and referentials: configure and update cost models with cost owners using structured databases, collect actuals from running projects, and support deviation and cost-evolution reports and benchmark databases.
• Independent cost estimates: perform bottom-up estimates of systems and subsystems using analytic, parametric or similarity approaches, explain results to support gap analysis and risk identification, and deliver bid cost brochures.
• Support quotation delivery, the pricing team up to contract signature, and the transition from costing to programme EAC after kick-off.
• Negotiate supplier and internal cost positions, reconcile variances with other estimates, and manage knowledge of cost evolution.
