Corporate Sommelier (m/f)

About the role

DouroAzul, a river cruise operator on the Douro River with 12 luxury ships, is looking for a Corporate Sommelier (m/f) to strengthen its team. The role involves supporting customers with wine choices, promoting wine tastings and helping define the wine list for the ships.

Key responsibilities

• Train teams to support customers in selecting and purchasing wine, explaining the options, characteristics and regions
• Promote, conduct and take part in wine tasting events
• Take part in choosing the wine range for the ship's wine list

Required profile

• Professional experience in the role and professional sommelier training
• Availability to work on board the ships
• Orientation towards training in-house crew with a focus on service quality
• Driving licence
• Proficiency in English (mandatory); knowledge of other languages valued

Required skills

• Management, stock control, purchases and pricing within budget
• Knowledge of wine and bar charters and their technical sheets
• Leadership, team management and conflict management
• Training capacity according to company standards
• Good computer skills
