General Manager - Mama Shelter Lisbon

About the role

Mama Shelter Lisbon is looking for a General Manager to lead a team of around one hundred people and deliver an exceptional guest experience. The role is hands-on, close to the team and the guests, and acts as the property's ambassador in the city.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team and create a positive, team-focused environment
• Monitor overall performance, balancing guest satisfaction, team engagement, operational excellence and business results
• Be present on the floor, close to teams and guests
• Build relationships with guests, local businesses and partners
• Oversee rooms, restaurants, bars, service, health and safety standards
• Drive profitability through revenue generation, cost control and smart decision-making
• Analyse performance, monitor expenses, manage budgets and forecasts
• Work with headquarters on reporting, commercial initiatives, e-marketing and media campaigns

Required profile

• Strong hotel operator with local and international experience, ideally F&B led
• Comfortable with commercial aspects and able to balance them with brand values
• Hands-on leader who enjoys working with the team
• Adaptable, calm under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
• Talent for spotting potential and developing people
• Fluent English; intermediate Portuguese desirable
