Contract Software Engineer – TypeScript & Node.js (Remote, Portugal)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate highly reliable, scalable backend systems that power real‑world investment and financial services. This is a hands‑on contract position focused on Node.js and TypeScript within an AWS serverless environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Operate services in production, ensuring reliability, observability, and continuous improvement.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Make architectural decisions for event‑driven, distributed systems.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and other engineering teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level backend engineer with strong ownership mindset.
• Comfortable working independently and driving solutions end‑to‑end.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
