Content Manager

About the role

This hands‑on Content Manager position is based in Portugal and leads the content strategy for two digital brands. You will own the full editorial lifecycle, from planning and production to optimisation and publication, while driving organic visibility and business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the content strategy and editorial calendar across both websites, aligning with customer needs, search intent and business goals.
• Recruit, manage and mentor writers and editors, assign briefs, set deadlines, review work and rewrite content when needed.
• Oversee the entire content lifecycle: research, assignment, editing, expert review, design, SEO validation, approval, publishing and ongoing optimisation.
• Maintain website content in the CMS, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, mobile‑friendliness, proper structure, metadata, links, imagery and calls‑to‑action.
• Lead SEO strategy, including keyword and competitor research, content audits, on‑page optimisation, internal linking and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate technical SEO initiatives with developers (crawling, indexing, redirects, canonical tags, XML sitemaps, Core Web Vitals, structured data, migrations, redesigns).
• Manage ethical link‑building and digital PR efforts to earn authoritative coverage.
• Use AI tools responsibly to accelerate content and SEO workflows while maintaining human oversight.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading content teams and managing end‑to‑end editorial processes.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to translate data into actionable content plans.
• Excellent editorial judgment with a focus on accuracy, evidence‑based information and E‑E‑A‑T principles.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as design, development, sales and operations.
