Content Editor

About the role

We are seeking a Content Editor to join a remote‑first team based in Portugal. The role blends editorial excellence with AI‑driven content operations, aiming to boost visibility across search engines and emerging AI‑powered platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and AI Optimization (AIO) strategies.
• Monitor brand presence, citation performance and AI platform visibility, turning insights into actionable improvements.
• Build and maintain AI‑assisted content workflows using Claude or similar platforms for drafting, editing, tagging and updating.
• Establish quality standards, review processes and checkpoints for AI‑generated content.
• Manage content refresh cycles to keep existing libraries relevant and high‑performing.
• Recruit, coordinate and oversee freelance writers, agencies, video contributors and AI agents.
• Create detailed briefs, outlines and editorial guidance for contributors.
• Proofread, edit and quality‑check all content before publication.
• Coach writers and support digital community growth initiatives.
• Collaborate with marketing and content stakeholders on strategy, research and priorities.

Required profile

• Strong editorial experience with a focus on digital content.
• Hands‑on knowledge of AI content workflows and SEO.
• Detail‑oriented, highly organized and able to manage multiple initiatives independently.
• Proven experience using Claude or comparable AI tools.
• Understanding of AEO, GEO and AIO concepts.
