Communication & Health & Safety Specialist (Portugal)

About the role

The Communication & Health & Safety Specialist will support Mondelēz International’s Corporate and Government Affairs (CGA) initiatives while ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards in Portugal. The role bridges internal and external communications with operational HSE responsibilities, working closely with the Iberia CGA team and local business units.

Key responsibilities

• Execute internal and external communication activities for corporate and brand campaigns, including content publishing, measurement coordination, and channel management.
• Manage media relations, government affairs, community engagement, and PR agency performance in Portugal.
• Develop and deliver internal communication content, support event planning, and ensure alignment with budget constraints.
• Lead HSE programs: maintain standards, procedures, reporting, compliance audits, and facility safety.
• Coordinate with the Facilities team to implement legislation and internal HSE requirements.
• Oversee the local healthcare provider, monitor assessments, and reduce employee health risks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in corporate communications, public relations, or government affairs.
• Strong understanding of Portuguese health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with leadership, facilities, and external agencies.
• Excellent organizational and project‑management skills.
