Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

Thought Machine is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join its Security Engineering team in Lisbon. You will help build secure, cloud‑native banking platforms by designing, implementing and automating security controls across our products and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and review security architecture for cloud‑based products and platforms.
• Conduct threat modelling to identify and prioritise risk areas.
• Define best‑in‑class protective and detective security controls.
• Develop security tooling and automation to improve detection and response.
• Implement and maintain cutting‑edge security tools and measures.
• Collaborate across cross‑functional teams and move between projects based on expertise.

Required profile

• Creative problem‑solver with a passion for innovative security solutions.
• Ability to think outside traditional silos and work collaboratively.
• Interest in greenfield projects and building security for next‑generation banking.
• Willingness to work onsite four days a week in Lisbon.
