Buyer – BOM Commodity & Resident Buyer (Porto/Guarda)

About the role

Join Sodecia’s Global Purchasing Organization as a Buyer responsible for a BOM commodity portfolio across Europe while supporting the Guarda plant. This dual role combines strategic sourcing with on‑site purchasing support, requiring frequent travel between Porto and Guarda.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an assigned BOM commodity portfolio across Sodecia’s European operations.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and commodity roadmaps.
• Lead supplier selection, RFIs, RFQs, commercial negotiations and contract management.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities through value analysis, benchmarking and productivity initiatives.
• Monitor supplier performance in quality, cost, delivery, capacity and sustainability.
• Support supplier development, risk mitigation and maintain market intelligence on raw‑material trends.
• Act as the primary purchasing representative for the Guarda plant, coordinating supplier activities and ensuring production continuity.
• Serve as the main interface between plant management and the Global Purchasing organization.

Required profile

• Strong collaboration skills with Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Program Management, Quality, Finance and Global Purchasing teams.
• Willingness to travel frequently between Porto and Guarda and maintain regular on‑site presence at the Guarda plant.
• Ability to align corporate purchasing strategies with plant operational needs.
