Buyer – BOM Commodity & Resident Buyer

About the role

Sodecia is seeking a Buyer to manage a specific Bill of Materials (BOM) commodity across its European operations while also acting as the Resident Buyer for the Guarda plant. The role bridges global purchasing strategy with day‑to‑day plant requirements, supporting new product launches, production continuity, and cost‑reduction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an assigned BOM commodity portfolio across Europe, developing sourcing strategies and commodity roadmaps.
• Lead supplier selection, RFIs, RFQs, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
• Identify and drive cost‑reduction opportunities through value analysis and benchmarking.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, delivery, capacity and sustainability.
• Act as the primary purchasing interface for the Guarda plant, coordinating supplier issues, shortages and escalations.
• Support new product launches, transfers and industrialisation projects from a purchasing perspective.
• Prepare sourcing recommendations, business cases and ensure data accuracy in ERP and purchasing systems.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and compliance with corporate procurement policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, logistics, quality, finance and global purchasing teams.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimisation and supplier risk mitigation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems for procurement data management.
