Backend Engineer (Node.js) – FinTech

As a Backend Engineer you will help build scalable backend systems for a growing digital platform serving thousands of users, working closely with experienced technical leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend services using Node.js, TypeScript and modern best practices.
• Create and optimise GraphQL and REST APIs for internal and external communication.
• Manage database architecture, performance and reliability with PostgreSQL, SQL and ORM tools such as Prisma.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, following best‑practice security and reliability guidelines.
• Implement event‑driven architectures to improve scalability and responsiveness.
• Integrate third‑party platforms ensuring secure authentication (OAuth, SSO).
• Contribute to microservices and monorepo architectures, supporting long‑term scalability.
• Maintain engineering standards through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing backend applications with Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Proven experience delivering GraphQL and RESTful APIs in production.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and ORM frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with event‑driven and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Experience integrating third‑party services and working with OAuth/SSO authentication.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and thrive in a fast‑moving startup environment.
