Systems Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Systems Operator to join our internal team in Lisbon. You will help keep our Linux and Windows Server environments stable, secure, and performant while supporting our users and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and upgrade virtual servers on Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) platforms.
• Manage user accounts, groups, permissions and access policies via Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
• Monitor system health, performance and service availability using tools such as Zabbix, Nagios or PRTG.
• Implement, test and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures with solutions like Veeam or Acronis.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, authentication, networking and application issues through log analysis and root‑cause investigation.
• Provide second‑line technical support, handle incidents and service requests, and meet SLA targets.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and change records.
• Assess impact of infrastructure changes, communicate risks and execute updates following change‑management processes.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliability, security and continuous improvement of IT services.

Required profile

• High school diploma or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, IT or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in systems support or infrastructure operations.
• Practical experience with Linux distributions and Windows Server environments.
• Experience administering Active Directory, including user/group management and GPOs.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG) and backup/recovery platforms (Veeam, Acronis).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyse logs and diagnose incidents.
• Knowledge of ticketing systems and IT service management practices (ITIL).
