Senior Java Software Developer

About the role

JYSK, a global retail chain known for Scandinavian design, is looking for a Senior Java Software Developer to join its Java team in Lisbon. You will work on a variety of in‑house applications across different business areas, maintaining and expanding a portfolio of systems that support the company’s retail operations. The role is based on a hybrid model, with three days a week in the office and two days remote.

Required profile

• Passionate about IT and software development
• Skilled Java developer who continuously improves his/her abilities
• Writes clean code and creates flexible software architecture
• Writes thorough tests of the code and follows test‑driven development
• Can drive and facilitate design discussions
• Has extensive knowledge of distributed systems and concurrency
• Displays maturity and loyalty to processes and decisions

Required skills

• Java (6‑8 years experience)
• Spring Boot (5+ years)
• SQL
• Cloud‑native engineering (nice to have)
• Kafka (nice to have)
• Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
• Test Driven Development (TDD) (nice to have)
