Senior Security Engineer

About the role

OutSystems is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join its Security Operations Center (SOC). In this hands‑on role you will design, implement and maintain security controls across a multi‑cloud and SaaS environment, ensuring the protection of digital assets and supporting global operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate security engineering across on‑premise, multi‑cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS environments.
• Deploy, configure and maintain security infrastructure such as SIEM, EDR, logging, monitoring, alerting and threat‑intelligence integrations.
• Apply and enforce security architecture, standards and best practices for cloud and internal tooling.
• Engineer, implement and tune detection rules and automated response playbooks for continuous threat detection.
• Support remediation efforts by collaborating with engineering teams to fix vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
• Partner with product, DevOps and QA teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to threat modeling, design reviews and secure coding practices.
• Evaluate and adopt new security tools and techniques to keep defenses up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of hands‑on security engineering experience in cloud‑based and SaaS environments, preferably multi‑cloud.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security concepts such as IAM, network segmentation, encryption, key and secrets management, and firewalls.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Yara) to create security automations and detection rules.
• Experience with incident response, detection engineering and vulnerability management.
• Understanding of the secure software development lifecycle and ability to work closely with dev/ops teams.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux and container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
