Mechanical / Automotive Engineer – AR3

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical / Automotive Engineer to join Tekever’s AR3 UAV program in Caldas da Rainha. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through prototyping, testing and final implementation, with the chance to see your work fly.

Key responsibilities

• Support mechanical development and continuous improvement of the AR3 platform.
• Translate engineering requirements into functional, manufacturable designs using CAD tools.
• Design, adapt and optimise mechanical components and assemblies.
• Build, modify and test prototypes, iterating designs based on test results.
• Drive product changes from concept through prototyping, testing and production.
• Identify mechanical issues, perform root‑cause analysis and propose practical solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing and other teams to bring improvements into production.
• Consider manufacturability, material selection, assembly and fabrication methods throughout the design process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• Strong hands‑on mindset with willingness to work directly on physical prototypes.
• Proactive, curious and solution‑oriented attitude.
• Good English (minimum B2); Portuguese is a plus.
• Ability to work onsite in Caldas da Rainha and Leiria.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with 3D printing, machining and moulding techniques.
