Mechanical / Automotive Engineer - AR3

About the role

You will join the development team responsible for the AR3 UAV, contributing to its mechanical design, prototyping, testing and production. The position offers hands‑on work with a complex aerial platform and the chance to see your designs become a flying product.

Key responsibilities

• Support mechanical development and continuous improvement of the AR3.
• Translate engineering requirements into functional, manufacturable designs.
• Design, adapt and optimise components and assemblies using CAD tools.
• Build, modify and test prototypes, iterating based on results.
• Drive product changes from concept through prototyping, testing and implementation.
• Identify mechanical issues, perform root‑cause analysis and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, manufacturing and other teams to bring improvements into production.
• Consider manufacturability, materials, assembly and fabrication methods throughout design.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related field (mandatory).
• Good level of English (B2 or above); Portuguese is a plus.
• Hands‑on, proactive and solution‑oriented mindset.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Team player comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Caldas da Rainha and Leiria.

Required skills

• SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with 3D printing, machining and moulding techniques.
