Junior Financial Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This position offers hands‑on experience in budgeting, reporting, and tax compliance within a regulated environment, providing a solid foundation for a career in finance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of annual budgets and business plans.
• Collect and organise financial data from multiple departments.
• Monitor financial performance and highlight basic variances between actual results and forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to regulatory reporting activities (e.g., Banco de Portugal, Tax Authority) under supervision.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with Portuguese tax legislation.
• Assist in internal‑control activities, reconciliations and audit‑related tasks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience, including internships.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of IFRS accounting standards.
• Familiarity with Portuguese tax legislation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL (a plus).
