IT Security Architect – Linux

About the role

Join the Engineering Computing Services team as an IT Security Architect focused on Linux. You will be the subject‑matter expert responsible for designing and implementing secure architectures, automating compliance, and protecting critical data centre services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and enhancement of security architecture for Linux‑based systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement proactive threat and vulnerability management.
• Develop and automate scalable security solutions using scripting and configuration‑management tools.
• Analyse logs, system configurations and network traffic to detect and remediate security issues.
• Own security initiatives ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of hands‑on experience in Linux security roles.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals and hardening techniques.
• Proactive mindset with attention to detail and ability to solve complex security challenges.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC‑3 Security or CISSP are a plus.
