Head of Supply Chain Management (GBS)

About the role

We are looking for a senior leader to head the Supply Services function within a new Global Business Services (GBS) centre in Porto. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on operational management to deliver efficient, compliant and scalable supply chain and procurement services across European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end supply services including procurement operations, purchasing support, supplier master data, contract administration and supply planning.
• Act as escalation point for operational issues and ensure sustainable resolutions.
• Support migration of supply chain activities into the GBS model and partner with BPOs on process mapping and stabilization.
• Define and optimise operating models, workflows and governance structures.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, internal controls and audit requirements.
• Drive standardisation, simplification and automation initiatives, leveraging technology to improve efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with global and regional procurement, supply chain and finance teams, providing performance visibility and risk reporting.
• Monitor SLAs, KPIs and quality targets, identifying cost‑optimisation opportunities.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in supply chain, procurement or operations.
• Strong background in shared services or GBS environments.
• Deep understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain processes.
• Proven experience in process transitions, migrations and operating‑model design.
• Extensive knowledge of governance, compliance and internal control frameworks.
