Frontend Engineer

About the role

OutSystems is looking for a Mid‑level Frontend Engineer to join its Digital Experience Team. You will work independently on complex UI tasks, collaborate with designers, backend engineers and business stakeholders, and help junior team members grow.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in discovery sessions to translate business needs into frontend solutions.
• Build, document and maintain reusable UI components that meet design, accessibility and AI‑assisted workflow standards.
• Write and maintain complex frontend code in OutSystems using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, ensuring performance, cross‑browser compatibility and WCAG compliance.
• Leverage OutSystems to customise and optimise frontend components.
• Use AI coding assistants to accelerate development while validating output against quality standards.
• Design and execute testing strategies (unit, integration, acceptance) and conduct code reviews.
• Identify and resolve frontend bugs efficiently.
• Stay up‑to‑date with frontend technologies, OutSystems updates and best practices.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of frontend development experience, including at least 1 year on the OutSystems platform.
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Experience with at least one modern framework (React, Vue or Angular).
• Solid understanding of accessibility (WCAG), responsive design and cross‑browser compatibility.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools and critically evaluating their output.
• Excellent English communication skills.
