Financial Controller

About the role

Airbus Portugal is looking for a Financial Controller in Coimbra. The role covers project financial controlling, program financial controlling and inventory controlling, with a focus on financial reporting, forecasting and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive financial targets through roadmaps (yearly forecast, multi-year budget planning, quarterly forecasts).
• Prepare and maintain master data and data structures (CBS, WBS, cost centers) for financial planning and forecasting.
• Produce consolidated financial reports, analyze quantitative and qualitative data and highlight discrepancies, risks and opportunities.
• Carry out monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, and keep reporting tools and processes consistent and compliant.
• Support project financial controlling: approve and audit purchase orders, trigger cost transfers and rebooking of mis-booked costs, and attend cost reviews.
• Support the Estimate at Completion (EAC) process, including moving the CDP pool into SAP, reforecasting costs to complete and checking EAC consistency at project and work package level.
• Manage inventory: create and monitor projects in management tools and support supplier invoice approvals.

Required profile

• Business Management degree in Finance or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in financial controlling or related areas.
• Understanding of GAAP or IFRS.
• Ability to deliver accurate recurring financial views, understand stakeholder needs while keeping to higher-level guidance and targets, and to manage data quickly and reliably.
• Analytical, problem-solving and proactive, with entrepreneurial, deadline-driven mindset.
• Strong communication skills, especially in a remote work context; English is mandatory, French, German or Spanish is a plus.
