Financial Controller – Project Finance & Controlling

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead project‑level financial controlling for Airbus in Portugal, ensuring accurate forecasting, budgeting and reporting. You will work closely with project teams to drive financial targets, monitor performance and support decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive yearly forecasts, multi‑year budget planning and quarterly forecast exercises.
• Establish consolidated financial reporting, analyse quantitative and qualitative data, and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Support project financial performance, approve purchase orders and trigger cost transfers.
• Maintain master data (CBS, WBS, Cost Centers) and ensure consistency across financial tools.
• Provide EAC (Estimate at Completion) process support, including re‑forecasting and consistency checks.
• Control inventory, create new projects and monitor existing ones in management tools.
• Approve supplier invoices and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Required profile

• Business Management education in Finance or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in financial controlling or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS accounting principles.
• Ability to deliver accurate financial pictures and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, especially in a remote context.
• Fluent English; additional French, German or Spanish is a plus.
