Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead project financial controlling for Airbus in Portugal, defining road‑maps, forecasts and budgets while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. The role combines strategic financial planning with day‑to‑day controlling activities across multiple projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive financial targets through yearly forecasts, multi‑year budgeting and quarterly forecast exercises.
• Prepare consolidated financial reports, analyse quantitative and qualitative data, and highlight risks, discrepancies and opportunities.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and year‑end closing activities to guarantee timely and accurate reporting.
• Support project financial performance, including purchase order approval, cost transfers, re‑booking of mis‑booked costs and inventory controlling.
• Maintain master data (CBS, WBS, Cost Centers) and ensure consistency across financial planning tools.
• Assist with EAC (Estimate at Completion) processes, re‑forecasting costs and checking consistency at project and work‑package level.

Required profile

• Business Management education in Finance or related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in financial controlling or similar roles.
• Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical abilities, problem‑solving mindset and entrepreneurial drive.
• Fluent English; additional French, German or Spanish is a plus.
