Engineering Manager – Machine Learning

About the role

Join SIXT’s Data Science organization as an Engineering Manager for Machine Learning. You will lead a growing team that turns data‑science prototypes into production‑grade ML applications on a central MLOps platform, helping the company deliver smarter pricing and other business‑critical processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and scale the Machine Learning Engineering team across locations, fostering high performance and collaboration.
• Define and enforce ML engineering standards, design patterns, and quality benchmarks.
• Shape technical strategy and architecture for data‑science, MLOps, and engineering, aligning with business goals.
• Translate MLOps platform capabilities into actionable guidance for data‑science teams and feed engineering needs back to the platform team.
• Mentor engineers, build cross‑functional relationships, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 3+ years of leadership experience managing machine‑learning or software‑engineering teams, preferably distributed.
• Proven ability to drive complex, multi‑stakeholder ML initiatives from concept to production.
• Strong communication skills to bridge technical and business stakeholders.
• Hands‑on technical credibility to review architectures and contribute to critical implementations.
