Data Scientist / ML Engineer – Build LLMs

About the role

We are seeking a Data Scientist / ML Engineer to join GRiT® and drive the development of cutting‑edge large language models. The role focuses on building Transformer‑based solutions using modern frameworks while collaborating on innovative LLM projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and fine‑tune Transformer and large language models for internal and client‑facing applications.
• Develop and maintain pipelines using PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX and integrate libraries such as HuggingFace Transformers, DeepSpeed, Megatron‑LM or FSDP.
• Collaborate with product and research teams on LLM projects involving OpenAI, HuggingFace, Cohere or equivalent platforms.
• Evaluate model performance, conduct experiments and document results.
• Support deployment and scaling of models on public cloud environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline.
• At least two years of hands‑on experience in data science and machine‑learning engineering.
• Proven experience developing Transformer and LLM architectures.

Required skills

• Strong Python programming.
• Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or JAX.
• Familiarity with HuggingFace Transformers, DeepSpeed, Megatron‑LM, FSDP or similar libraries.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) databases.
