Data Engineer (Hybrid, Portugal)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our growing team in Portugal. The role is hybrid, with two days a week on‑site in Coimbra, Lisbon or Braga, and focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines that power our client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines on cloud platforms.
• Implement data processing workflows using AWS services such as S3, Lambda and Glue.
• Leverage Databricks for scalable data transformations.
• Write clean, production‑ready Python code for data ingestion and transformation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and manage code versioning with GitHub.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services and Databricks.
• Strong command of Python and related data‑engineering libraries.
• Solid understanding of the full data lifecycle, including ETL/ELT processes.
• Fluent English (B2 level or higher).
• Based in Portugal with EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit.
