Business Partner, Human Resources

About the role

LUMA is seeking a Business Partner, Human Resources to align HR strategies with business objectives and support a people‑first culture across Puerto Rico. You will work closely with leaders to design and implement HR solutions that drive performance, compliance, and employee engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to translate strategic goals into HR initiatives.
• Provide guidance on employment law, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Support managers and employees to improve work relationships, morale, and retention.
• Coordinate workforce planning, talent management, and organizational design.
• Identify development needs and collaborate with Learning & Development on training programs.
• Address employee‑relations issues, conduct investigations, and ensure consistent policy application.
• Coach managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes for both union and non‑union environments.
• Analyze HR data, prepare reports, and deliver insights for continuous improvement.
• Participate in storm‑restoration tasks and safety drills as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years handling complex employee‑relations matters.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making, and negotiation abilities.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
