Digital Designer & Developer

About the role

We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Digital Designer & Developer to join our fast-growing startup in Portugal. The role sits at the intersection of design and development, allowing you to turn ideas into clean, scalable, user-focused digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, responsive websites and web applications.
• Translate design concepts into clean, maintainable code using React, WordPress, Framer and Shopify.
• Build and customise WordPress themes and plugins.
• Develop and maintain Shopify storefronts, including theme customisation and integrations.
• Create and manage Framer websites with strong visual execution and performance.
• Collaborate with designers, product and leadership teams to deliver intuitive user experiences.
• Ensure projects are optimised for performance, scalability and SEO.
• Maintain consistency in design systems, UI components and brand guidelines.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues and continuously improve existing sites based on feedback and analytics.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a front-end developer or digital designer role.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and responsive design.
• Proactive, organised and able to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
