Product Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our global design engineering team in Santarém. In this role you will help shape the future of our products, supporting ambitious growth plans and expanding our manufacturing capabilities across regions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the global engineering strategy for products that align with market position and meet the specific needs of cloud‑based environments.
• Provide engineering and design expertise, proposing creative solutions and fostering a culture of innovation.
• Collaborate with customers to understand design requirements and work cross‑functionally with project management, sales, R&D, engineering and manufacturing to ensure seamless integration from concept to full‑scale production.
• Integrate innovative technologies and sustainable engineering practices into product offerings.
• Lead the conceptualization and visualization of design projects, ensuring excellence at each development stage.
• Utilize advanced engineering tools and methodologies to create compelling presentations and prototypes.
• Develop and implement standardized engineering practices to ensure consistency and quality across all regions, aligning with the organization’s brand identity.
• Foster collaborative relationships with key customers to co‑create design solutions that meet evolving needs.
• Provide regular reports and updates to the Lead Product Design Engineer on performance, milestones, and potential risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering/design role, preferably within the data‑centre or construction industry.
• Experience designing products or systems for critical infrastructure projects such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, or data centres is preferred.
• Experience with integrated modular or skid systems is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and planning skills with a proven track record of driving design innovation.
