Inventory Specialist

About the role

The Inventory Specialist ensures accurate inventory management across the entire store, including front‑end and pharmacy sections. You will drive best‑practice processes, support on‑shelf availability, and act as a key point of contact for inventory‑related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Execute, monitor, and train staff on inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for both front‑end and pharmacy.
• Manage receiving, counting, pricing, ordering, returns, and all in‑store inventory processes.
• Validate planograms and ensure accuracy of on‑hand balances and pricing.
• Review and coordinate reports and system applications that affect inventory accuracy.
• Implement asset‑protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.
• Open and close the store in the absence of management, handling cash, systems start‑ups, and floor readiness.
• Engage customers, resolve issues, and model exemplary customer service.
• Coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory processes, including scanning deliveries and managing vendor receipts.
• Under pharmacist supervision, verify pharmacy shipments and complete daily postings for all pharmacy orders.
• Execute the end‑to‑end On‑Shelf Availability (OSA) process, including disposals, call‑ins, and vendor returns.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Experience working in a retail or pharmacy environment is preferred.
• Ability to train and coach team members on inventory procedures.
• Comfortable handling cash and performing store opening/closing duties.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
