French-Speaking Accounting Controller

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented French‑speaking Accounting Controller to join our finance team in Porto. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability of financial information, supporting reporting activities and maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The position follows a hybrid working model and requires the candidate to already reside in Porto or nearby.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accounting control activities and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations and accounting analyses.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Monitor accounting transactions for compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and improvement opportunities.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and finance teams across business units.
• Assist internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
• Contribute to process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and financial reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Fluent French (B2 level or higher) and good English communication skills.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous experience in accounting, financial control, audit or a similar finance‑related role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
• Must already be residing in Porto or nearby areas.
