Buyer – Flying Procurement

About the role

The Buyer – Flying Procurement will support Airbus Portugal in shaping the commodity strategy for aviation‑related products. Working closely with the Multi‑Functional Team, you will manage tender processes, negotiate contracts and drive cost‑saving initiatives for military aircraft programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the definition, consolidation and development of the commodity strategy, including market analysis, spend analysis, key suppliers and cost drivers, in collaboration with the Multi‑Functional Team.
• Support tender processes through the procurement tool, manage supplier selection, generate selection reports and draft associated contracts.
• Negotiate agreements and contracts for suppliers linked to military aircraft such as the C295 and A400M, and assist with escalation handling.
• Manage end‑of‑price and end‑of‑contract validity, maintain the relevant database and define action plans with commodity managers.
• Identify mandatory clauses and annexes for aerostructure contracts and monitor contract compliance.
• Ensure adequate supplier performance through systematic claim handling and consequential management.
• Identify and implement savings projects across all areas of responsibility.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or business administration (or equivalent).
• Advanced level of English.
• Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to anticipate, assess and mitigate risks.
• Team spirit and capacity to work in a dynamic environment.
• High motivation to lead complex projects.
• Experience in procurement and supply chain is an asset.
• Experience in the aerospace sector and Spanish language are a plus.
