Vision Systems Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Vision Systems Engineer to join our R&D team in the Évora area. You will design, develop and optimise machine‑vision solutions that support our industrial customers and drive continuous improvement across production lines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and integrate Cognex or Keyence vision systems into manufacturing equipment.
• Design AI‑enabled vision algorithms to enhance inspection accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of vision‑related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in prototype testing, validation and documentation of vision solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with Cognex or Keyence vision hardware.
• Familiarity with AI‑based vision applications is highly valued.
• Previous involvement in research and development projects.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for teamwork and stakeholder interaction.
