Product Engineer – High Voltage Contactors

About the role

Join TE’s growing E‑Mobility team in Évora to develop innovative high‑voltage contactor technologies for automotive electrification. You will work in a collaborative international environment, gaining hands‑on experience and the chance to take on increasing responsibilities as the site expands.

Key responsibilities

• Execute product design according to external or internal customer requirements up to industrialisation.
• Lead product engineering during development and sustaining engineering projects in line with automotive standards.
• Ensure all applicable environmental restrictions are considered in new product designs and changes.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Finance, Product Management and other teams.
• Create 3D CAD models, 2D production drawings and engineering specifications applying ISO GPS tolerancing.
• Produce customer‑specific and restricted drawings.
• Conduct product design reviews and D‑FMEAs with project teams.
• Define testing plans for qualification according to customer and internal specifications.
• Support product improvements and modifications to address quality or manufacturability issues.
• Analyse process problems and perform root‑cause analysis of quality issues.
• Provide timely support to internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in the automotive industry.
• At least 1 year of E‑Mobility mechanical design experience using advanced 3D CAD software.
• Experience with geometrical tolerancing and tolerance calculations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with risk‑assessment methods.
• Proven ability to work in international, cross‑functional engineering project teams.
• Good communication skills and technical English.
• Willingness to travel.
