Vendor Management Specialist – Global Clinical Supplies

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Vendor Management Specialist to join its client‑dedicated (FSP) team within Global Clinical Supplies. You will support worldwide healthcare initiatives by optimizing inventory, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring smooth supply‑chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze demand requirements and create accurate purchase orders.
• Maintain and improve vendor performance and relationships.
• Optimize inventory levels and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support supply‑chain efficiency.
• Apply GMP, SOP, and regulatory knowledge to all activities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (no experience required) or Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of purchasing, material planning, or supply‑chain experience.
• Preferred studies: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
• APICS or other supply‑chain certifications are a plus.
• Strong analytical, data‑management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work independently in a matrix organization.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, QAD or Oracle.
• Understanding of MRP principles.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros).
• Experience with forecasting, inventory optimization and demand planning.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous‑improvement methodologies.
