Varillero – Instalación y aseguramiento de refuerzo de hormigón

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Varillero to install and secure steel reinforcement in concrete formwork. The role involves cutting, bending, and positioning rebar, mesh, and cables to meet project specifications while maintaining strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Separate and tie rebar according to drawings using wire and pliers.
• Place and secure steel bars, rebar, cables, or mesh in concrete formwork using fasteners, rebar bending machines, torches, or hand tools.
• Cut rebar to required lengths with metal shears, metal saws, bar benders, or acetylene torches.
• Cut and install wire mesh or fabric, using hook‑shaped rebar, and position it within concrete to reinforce structures.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in at least two specialized trades related to concrete reinforcement.
• Strong practical knowledge of workplace safety and ability to complete company‑specific safety orientation.
• Preferred OSHA 30‑hour certification.

Required skills

• Operation of rebar bending machines.
• Use of acetylene torches for cutting and bending.
• Proficiency with metal shears and metal saws.
• Experience with bar benders and wire mesh handling.
• Understanding of OSHA safety standards.
