Assistant Project Manager

About the role

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with Project Managers to support planning, oversight, and client communication throughout construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate labor with superintendents and clients, managing sub‑contractors such as HVAC controls, insulation, test & balance, sheet metal and ductwork.
• Work with Operations teams on project planning and execution, including purchasing and logistics.
• Hold site safety meetings, enforce safety rules, and maintain a clean environment.
• Manage onsite sub‑contractors and third‑party labor, keep daily activity logs, and report site data to the Project Manager.
• Interact with clients, provide exceptional customer service, and act as the main point of contact during construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3 to 5 years of progressive construction management experience with employee management responsibilities.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish and English.

Required skills

• Experience with HVAC controls, insulation, test & balance, sheet metal construction, and ductwork.
• Installation and maintenance of industrial utilities: chillers, air handling units, BAS systems, cooling towers, process and water pumps, plumbing and piping.
• Project accounting and management of project drawings.
