System Administrator (F/M/D)

About the role

Quidgest is looking for a System Administrator to keep its global infrastructure reliable, secure and scalable. Based in Lisbon, you will work with the infrastructure team to support internal platforms, client‑facing services and AI‑driven development pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the availability, performance and security of servers, virtual environments and network components.
• Administer web servers and reverse proxies such as IIS, Nginx and HAProxy.
• Automate provisioning, configuration and monitoring using PowerShell, Ansible and other infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
• Support DevOps processes, CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) and ensure reliable deployments.
• Manage and monitor Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases, focusing on performance and resilience.
• Implement backup, disaster‑recovery and high‑availability solutions.
• Contribute to cybersecurity hardening, firewall rule management and overall infrastructure security.
• Explore AI‑assisted tools to improve documentation, monitoring and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Proven experience with Windows and Linux system administration.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, VPN, firewalls).
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy and centralized management.
• Strong scripting skills, especially PowerShell, and a drive to automate repetitive tasks.
• Interest in monitoring, logging, backup and high‑availability environments.
• Good command of Portuguese and English.
