Software Shopfloor Solutions Engineer

About the role

As a member of Continental's Manufacturing Technology Engineering Organisation, you will develop, industrialise and support shop‑floor software solutions for tire production across the company's global factories. You will work with modern technologies such as .NET, Python and Docker while collaborating with an international, multicultural team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement shop‑floor applications using .NET, Python, OPC UA and Docker containers.
• Analyse business requirements from internal partners and translate them into technical specifications.
• Pilot new features and systems in Continental tire plants worldwide.
• Provide third‑level remote and occasional on‑site IT support for more than 20 factories across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
• Collaborate with colleagues in seven global locations to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions.

Required profile

• Academic degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of professional experience as a software developer, preferably in a manufacturing or shop‑floor environment.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET and Python development.
• Experience with Docker containerisation; knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Beckhoff) is a plus.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies (e.g., SAFe) and strong English communication skills.
