SAP CO IT Consultant

About the role

Continental, a global tire manufacturer, is looking for an SAP CO IT Consultant to support the Controlling (CO) workstream across all phases of its S/4HANA template build and rollout. The role involves translating business needs into functional specifications and ensuring integration with Finance and other modules.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Controlling workstream across design, configuration, testing and hypercare phases of the S/4HANA rollout.
• Participate in Fit‑to‑Template workshops, clarify requirements and create functional specifications.
• Configure core CO areas such as Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Cost Planning, Cost Object Controlling and both account‑based and costing‑based CO‑PA.
• Leverage the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) for real‑time FI‑CO integration and ensure a single source of truth.
• Coordinate CO deliverables, timelines and system readiness, and execute unit, integration and UAT test scenarios.
• Support migration of CO master and transactional data, validate data consistency and assist in reconciliation.
• Guide business users during rollout and hypercare, resolve CO‑related incidents and identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Academic degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in SAP CO or finance‑related IT roles, including at least one S/4HANA implementation.
• Strong communication skills and business‑fluent English.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.

Required skills

• SAP S/4HANA Controlling (CO) – Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Cost Planning, CO‑PA.
• Material Ledger, Project System (PS) and Investment Management (IM).
• Integration knowledge of FI, MM, SD and PP modules.
• Understanding of the Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and real‑time FI‑CO data model.
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications for Controlling.
• ABAP debugging/read‑code skills.
• Optional: SAP Controlling certification (e.g., C_TS4CO or C_S4CCO).
