About the role
Join Nokia's Mobile Infrastructure group as a Software Engineer Trainee. You will work on designing, implementing and testing cloud‑native software solutions that support automated operations in Nokia's Digital & Operations Center.
Key responsibilities
- Specify, design, implement and test software components.
- Support program planning, agile ceremonies and team collaboration.
- Assist colleagues, create reports and respond to internal queries.
- Follow standardised procedures under supervision to meet deadlines.
Required profile
- Final year BSc or MSc student in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Familiar with test‑driven development, pair‑programming and software refactoring.
- Advocate of software craftsmanship, agile & lean values and a quality‑first mindset.
- Eager to adopt continuous improvement and continuous delivery practices.
Required skills
- Java 17+, Python, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, TypeScript, React.
- Containers and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- REST services, API design (JSON, Swagger).
- AI coding assistant tools such as Cursor.
- Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, GitLab).
- Test automation frameworks (JUnit, Jest, Selenium, Robot Framework, Cucumber) and TDD.
- Database knowledge (SQL, HQL, Oracle, MariaDB, RDBMS).
- Event streaming and monitoring (Kafka, Apache Nifi, Grafana).
- Dependency management (Webpack, Maven, Gradle, npm).
