Software Engineer – Java Microservices

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Software Engineer to design and build scalable, cloud-native Java microservices for a market-leading enterprise platform serving the automotive finance, leasing, fleet management and mobility sectors. You will join an international product company and collaborate with a global engineering team based in Porto.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable microservices following domain-driven design principles.
• Translate business domain models into robust, cloud-native architectures.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Implement modern engineering practices such as CI/CD, containerization and automated testing.
• Apply Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) principles to ensure secure code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance enterprise solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Strong experience with Java 17 (Java 21 a plus).
• Hands-on experience designing and developing microservices.
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL skills, especially with PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven, Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
