Software Engineer - Front End

About the role

Farfetch is seeking a Frontend Engineer to join its global engineering team in Portugal. The role focuses on building and owning high‑scale web products for Farfetch.com, influencing architecture, and contributing to the open‑source ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop global‑scale solutions within a React‑based architecture.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of personalized user experiences, from discovery with product and design teams to deployment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and the wider front‑end community to solve complex technical challenges.
• Contribute to and evolve open‑source packages and the design system for sustainability across consumer products.
• Continuously learn and apply modern web performance optimization, GraphQL integration, and advanced testing strategies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional front‑end development experience in collaborative, multi‑team environments.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+, closures, async programming).
• Commitment to clean, maintainable, well‑documented code with testing.
