SOC Specialist (L1/L2)

About the role

PrimeIT is seeking a motivated SOC Specialist (L1/L2) to join its fast‑growing cybersecurity team in Porto. You will work in a hybrid environment, continuously monitoring and responding to security events across the company’s infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls and other tools.
• Analyze logs from networks, servers, applications and cloud environments to detect suspicious activity.
• Investigate and triage alerts, distinguishing false positives from real threats.
• Perform Level 1 and Level 2 incident analysis, including phishing, malware, unauthorized access and brute‑force attacks.
• Execute initial containment actions following playbooks (e.g., isolate endpoints, disable accounts).
• Escalate complex incidents to L3 analysts or IR teams with full technical handover.
• Monitor threat‑intelligence feeds and identify emerging TTPs and IOCs.
• Support vulnerability remediation and maintain accurate incident documentation.
• Contribute to improving SOC processes, detection rules and procedures.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in a SOC or cybersecurity operations environment.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms and endpoint security solutions (EDR/XDR).
• Strong knowledge of security event monitoring, log analysis and threat detection.
• Understanding of common cyber threats, attack techniques and best practices.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, networking concepts and cloud environments.
• Analytical mindset with solid troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent English.
