SOC L1 Analyst – Security Operations Center

About the role

PwC is looking for a SOC L1 Analyst to join its Technology Consulting practice. You will work within a dedicated security operations team, continuously monitoring client infrastructures and responding to security incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor customer environments to detect security incidents.
• Tri­age alerts, collect relevant data, and report incidents, escalating to Level 2 when needed.
• Perform basic threat analysis by correlating events across multiple platforms.
• Adjust alert thresholds, update correlation rules, and fine‑tune security tool parameters.
• Maintain detailed records of events, responses, and outcomes for audit and pattern‑recognition purposes.
• Collaborate with L2 and L3 analysts to improve service quality.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field (preferred).
• At least 1 year of professional experience in a SOC environment.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Portuguese.

Required skills

• Shell scripting, Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Log analysis and network protocol knowledge.
• Experience with SIEM and EDR tools (e.g., QRadar, Sentinel, Reacta, CarbonBlack, Darktrace, Cortex).
• Familiarity with firewalls and security platforms (Fortinet, Palo Alto, WatchGuard, Checkpoint).
• Operating system expertise: Windows, Linux, Unix.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, GICSP, GSEC or CSA (preferred).
