Shipping Agent

About the role

Sidel is seeking a Shipping Agent to join its global Logistics & Transport team at the Santa Maria da Feira site in Portugal. You will be part of a small team responsible for managing all inbound and outbound logistics, customs compliance, and transport operations for the plant that manufactures conveyors and packaging equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with import and export customs regulations for all shipments.
• Coordinate with carriers to schedule deliveries and track shipments to guarantee timely arrival.
• Prepare, verify, and issue all required shipping documentation for each execution shipment.
• Monitor and report on KPIs such as delivery accuracy, lead time, and shipping costs.
• Collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, Project Management, Sales Admin, and transport & packing teams to optimise routing and minimise costs.
• Review logistics supplier offers and generate purchase requests in the SAPIssue system.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Management Engineering, Business Administration, Transportation, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping or freight forwarding within a multinational environment.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Mandarin) are a plus.
