Operational Purchasing & Supply Chain Specialist

About the role

We are establishing a new MRO facility near Porto, Portugal, focused on repairing engine parts and aircraft components. As an Operational Purchasing and Supply Chain Specialist you will help build the procurement function from the ground up, ensuring the right materials are sourced at the best conditions to support commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Perform purchasing activities to secure supply with optimal price and lead‑time.
• Handle purchase order clarifications, goods receipt issues and invoice queries with suppliers.
• Coordinate and resolve supply requirements across internal departments.
• Monitor supplier performance against KPIs such as on‑time delivery and invoice accuracy.
• Facilitate communication between external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare status reports and act as the primary point of contact for suppliers.

Required profile

• Degree or technical qualification (or equivalent).
• 1‑3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
• Knowledge of material processes and basic supply‑chain principles; manufacturing or aviation background preferred.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for training or business purposes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with SAP.
