Senior Transmission Line Engineer – Remote (Puerto Rico)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead complex transmission line projects for utility clients. This fully remote position offers the chance to apply advanced engineering expertise while mentoring junior staff and delivering high‑quality designs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead transmission line designs from concept through final design, including EFM, conductor sizing, induction, impedance, loss, and voltage‑drop analysis.
• Perform engineering studies such as conductor economics, lightning performance, grounding calculations, and electrical clearance per NESC.
• Interpret and apply regulatory requirements (NERC, FERC, regional standards) to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and review technical documentation: specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers on scope, schedule, budget, staffing, construction support, and change‑order management.
• Conduct QA/QC for engineering deliverables, production drawings, CAD outputs, and construction administration, resolving field issues as needed.
