Senior Resource Plane Platform Engineer

About the role

Intermedia is looking for a Senior Resource Plane Platform Engineer to join its Internal Developer Platform team. The role is primarily remote with occasional visits to the Coimbra office, offering flexibility while collaborating closely with other engineering groups.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate shared Resource Plane services used across the organization.
• Operate and evolve Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elasticsearch platforms in production.
• Apply SRE principles to ensure availability, scalability, reliability, and safe upgrades of stateful systems.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code and GitOps automation for provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Define and enforce usage patterns, guardrails, and golden paths for platform consumers.
• Integrate Resource Plane services into the Internal Developer Platform for self‑service consumption.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with the Kubernetes Platform Team and other stakeholders.
• Serve as a senior technical voice in architecture discussions.

Required profile

• Senior individual contributor comfortable operating under ambiguity.
• Proven experience managing complex, stateful production services.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive reliability initiatives.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills within cross‑functional teams.
